Loretta McClellan of McClellan Creative was commissioned by the Downeast Institute of Beals Island, Maine to create conceptual art, of two watercolor building concept illustrations as the “after,” based on two digital photos as the “before.” Loretta provided the imaginative yet purposeful art in advance of the deadline for the happy, repeat client.
“Concept Art is pondering the possibilities. It is one of my favorite types of projects because, at its core, it is hopeful creativity,” states McClellan.

In 2004 Loretta did a similar project for this client at another organization, the Sunrise County Economic Council of Machias, Maine. Multiple watercolor renderings were created based on different buildings across Washington County, Maine for a Rural Redevelopment project. We were advised that nearly 20 years later, several of these paintings are currently displayed at the SCEC offices. At the time of project completion, the remaining art was displayed in their respective towns, including at the Town Hall of Steuben, Maine.
